Skoda Popular and Rapid

The Škoda Popular and Rapid cars from the 1930s and 1940s belong to the golden fund of Czechoslovak motoring. This book charts their colourful history in detail and recalls in words and pictures well-known, but also now almost forgotten cars. The compact car at a good price helped Škoda to gain a leading position in the domestic passenger car market and became a profitable export item. The Popular and its more powerful sibling, the Rapid, underwent a number of stylistic changes and technical improvements and contributed significantly to the development of motoring in pre-war Czechoslovakia.
