Simon Wels: At the Bernati

Wels's memoirs of the years 1853-1897, in which he also recorded the history of his parents from 1803 onwards, are not only a valuable testimony to many details of the life of the rural Jewish community in West Bohemia in the second half of the 19th century, but also an unusually sensitively written literary text whose charm is enhanced by numerous lexical and spelling peculiarities. Directed by Markéta Jahodová, the cast includes: Lubor Tokoš and Vlasta Peterková.
