Silence

These talks were delivered by Osho in Nargol, at a meditation camp in 1970 attended by more than a thousand people. On the seashore, surrounded by cypresses, the disciples listened to Osho's words for three days while also performing morning and evening meditations. In this beautiful natural setting, Osho chose silence, the search for inner peace, and the attainment of balance as his main themes. As always, he interspersed his talks with interesting and humorous stories that vividly illustrate how one should work on oneself to achieve self-knowledge. The guided meditations are also interesting in that they took place in complete silence; Osho's disciples remained silent, merely perceiving the surrounding sounds—the roar of the sea, the singing of birds, the rustling of the wind. Osho highlights the importance of silence in the modern age, where we are surrounded by constant commotion, and also emphasises how important it is to forget the rush and hurry and to try to penetrate as deeply as possible into one's own inner self, where the most precious treasure is hidden: the soul of divinity. And silence is its message, expressed without words.
