She and her cat

In linked short stories, four women and their feline companions explore the fragility of life, the pain of loneliness and the limits of communication. The ingenious alternation of narrators - sometimes cats, sometimes their owners - offers a subtle and original insight into human frailty and the longing for closeness, and shows that even in our darkest and loneliest moments we are still connected to the world around us - often in unexpected ways.
