Russian Roulette
“There are a lot of dead bodies. But that’s mainly because most of the story takes place in a mortuary.”
The crematorium at Danilovskoye Cemetery in Moscow is equipped with state-of-the-art French technology, but as it soon turns out, it can’t quite burn everything and everyone.
Director Igor Chomsky’s numbers don’t quite add up. A body is missing here, an extra one there. And as the dramatic events pile up, it even looks as if the next extra body could very well be his own. The problem, however, is not just the discrepancy in the mortuary count, but also two absolutely identical statuettes from 200 BC, each found at opposite ends of the globe. Two unrelated worlds of two unrelated ancient civilisations with common features.
Finding the connection between the greatest archaeological mystery and the mortuary at Danilovskoye Cemetery is a reward for any hardened reader who makes it to the end of the book.
A stand-alone novel.
