Ruler representation in written culture in the Middle Ages

On the occasion of the jubilee of prof. PhDr. Ivan Hlaváček, CSc., 25 domestic and foreign scholars focused on researching various forms of ruler representation in written culture in the Middle Ages. The first block was devoted to everyday life and forms of representation at the court of the monarchy, with the topic being examined both in relation to specific rulers and in a broader comparative framework. The next section focuses on the perception of royal majesty through the lens of contemporary and subsequent generations, especially through the eyes of authors of narrative, educational or preachy literature. The last part included contributions devoted to various areas of the monarchical administration and the problems of official documents in the Middle Ages.
