Can love for God be stronger than human love?
Jana is convinced that nothing can break her faith. Especially now that freedom has arrived and she can finally live in a convent. She joins the sisters full of hope, determination, but also illusions. These begin to slowly crumble with the daily routine of monastic life. Jana must once again weigh her unfulfilled relationship with Viktor, but above all, she must answer the questions that the mysterious Karin brings into her life.
The novel allows the reader a glimpse into the mysterious world of a convent, and this image defies the usual ideas about life within it. And although it may at times seem unflattering, it judges no one. Last but not least, Návrat is a fascinating love story. Because human love is like a wild, many-faced animal, persistently seeking a companion…

What they wrote about the book:
Petra Dvořáková's books are distinguished by their sensitive portrayal of the human psyche, relationships, and internal conflicts. The author works brilliantly with language and is able to authentically depict emotions and everyday life situations. Her stories captivate with their depth, empathy, humour, and the ability to open up important, often taboo, topics.
- Martin Stöhr, editor

Although I lived in a convent for several years, this is not my own story, nor the story of any specific sister. What is authentic, however, is the experience and depiction of daily life in a convent, where women of various ages, characters, and mindsets meet. A person never uncovers the reality of such a life during brief encounters with nuns, but only glimpses it when staying among them for a longer period.
