Recited by Irena Kačírková

IRENA KAČÍRKOVÁ (*24.3.1925 - †26.10.1985) was a beautiful, educated and refined actress who is said to have been born in a different time. With her appearance as a non-Slavic, imposing beauty, she could not convincingly portray the forged comrades, spirited peasants or milk maids from the JZD whose characters appeared in films of the 1950s. What her appearance deprived her of in the film, she was given more opportunities in the theatre, where, thanks to her acting talent, she coped perfectly with roles of all types - comic, tragic and antic. In the theatre, she was mainly active in foreign comedy repertoire (Misanthrope, The Widow of Venice, How Important It Is to Have Philip, The Third Ring). Among the highlights of her theatrical art is The Thief of the City of London, directed by Radok, Lady Torrance in The Descent of Orpheus, Elizabeth in Mary Stuart, Jefferson's Medea), She was often cast in musical productions, her acting performances have regularly attracted the attention of critics and audiences alike. Among his numerous film roles, let us mention at least the films The White Lady, Old Men on Hops, Conscience and Once Upon a Time There Was a King. Our new compilation title focuses on her recitation work for Supraphon between 1963 and 1980. The title is for digital stores only.
