The law is rarely clear and rarely makes sense
Rudy Baylor is a senior at the University of Memphis School of Law. He gets his first two clients at a club where insolvent pensioners meet. Mrs. Birdie wants to disinherit her own grandchildren and the children who neglect her. The second client is the Black family. Their son Donny has leukaemia and is dying, even though a bone marrow transplant could have saved his life. But the insurance company refuses to pay him.
Rudy develops a deep relationship with the Black family, especially the dying Donny. He understands that their concern is not so much for compensation as for a just condemnation of a fraudulent organization. He decides to win the lawsuit at all costs...
