Railways and railwaymen

Another of Josef Schrötter's fascinating and unique publications describes not only the development of railway transport, locomotives, and signalling equipment, but also the various professions involved in railway operations. From the 19th century to the present day – you will learn how the railway has transformed and with it the daily lives of those in its service. Do you know what a signalman, a watchman, or a “Číňan” was? You'll find the answers to these questions and more here. The text is accompanied by hundreds of beautiful illustrations, including those by the academic painter Jiří Bouda.
