Prosper Merimée: Lokis

The mere utterance of the word Lokis is said to be a harbinger of terrible misfortune and usually brings with it death. But Professor Wittenbach is unaware of all this when he travels to Lithuania to study ancient texts written in Zhmudic. Here he meets Count Michal Szemiot, who has a library full of rare volumes and a rich knowledge of local traditions and folklore. How might the tragic fate of Semiot's mother affect the future of this young man who is about to marry? What does the word lokis actually mean? Performers: Bořivoj Navrátil, Jiri Ornest, Miloš Rozhoň, Jiri Schwarz, Jaroslava Adamová, Marta Vančurová and others.
