Propedeutics in internal medicine
Propaedeutics of internal medicine should only be a preparation for systematic study, in which the student should become familiar with the basic principles of examination of the patient. These are a prerequisite for the diagnosis of internal diseases. Until now, the textbooks of propedeutics published in our country were mostly conceived as "small internal medicine", including differential diagnostic considerations and descriptions of various clinical syndromes. Thus, without knowledge of systematic internal medicine, many statements were empty concepts for the medical practitioner. The third, revised edition of the text is therefore designed to be only a preparation for the study of systematic internal medicine. The general part focuses on the description of the physical examination and some basic diagnostic methods, and there is also a chapter on medical documentation and legal problems that doctors are increasingly encountering today. The special section then deals with the specifics of history and physical examination in individual subfields of internal medicine, along with a brief description of special examination methods.
