The Cases of Judge Ti: The Blue River Fairy

During the Festival of Lovers, Judge Dee learns of the legend of the town of Pu-yang, according to which a woman's ghost tries to drown brave men in the Blue River. He is therefore astonished to see a swimmer approaching his boat in the moonlight as he is about to cross the river. When a murder occurs in a residence on an island in the middle of the river, the judge must figure out how to question the only witness to the murder when it is the victim's dog. Judge Dee then meets a sorceress, a seductive fairy, and a Taoist hermit, a devotee of the divine bottle.
