Premyslid Epic III - King Knight Premysl II. Otakar

The third part of the four-part fresco about the life of the last Přemyslid kings begins in the youth of Přemysl II. At that time, his father Václav I. realizes his political dream - to dominate the Austrian lands through the marriage of his first-born son Vladislav. But Vladislav dies and Přemysl becomes heir to the throne. In order for the Přemyslids to keep the Austrian lands, young Přemysl must marry Margaret of Babenberg, more than thirty years his senior. However, the new Czech queen is at an age when she is unable to give the lands an heir. Therefore, he divorces her and marries the young Hungarian princess Kunhuta, having previously defeated her grandfather, King Bela IV of Hungary, in war. Premysl II. becomes the uncrowned ruler of the lands north of the Alps, as he gradually takes over Austria, Styria, Carinthia and Cheb. In addition, he will have the desired heir - Václav. Premysl is at the height of his power.
