Premyslid Epic II - One-eyed King Wenceslas I.

The second part of the four-part fresco about the life of the last Přemyslid kings begins in the time of Wenceslas' childhood, when Přemysl I. Otakar fights for the recognition of his marriage to Constance of Hungary and thus also for the legalisation of the succession rights of little Wenceslas. He takes the side of the Emperor and finally obtains the definitive confirmation of the royal crown by the Golden Bull of Sicily. At that time, little Václav finds himself by his side and learns to rule. After the death of his father, he is crowned King of Bohemia, but he is convinced that he must rule differently. He begins to build a lavish royal court, surrounding himself with knights and artists. His political dream is to conquer the Austrian lands with which he has been at war for decades, and when he finally completes his plans by marrying his eldest son, his son Vladislav dies. The second part of the tetralogy ends with Václav I. declares his successor to be his second-born son, the future King Přemysl II. Otakara.
