IN THE BLOOD BELT, MANKIND MUST FIGHT ANOTHER KEY BATTLE AGAINST THE CORSAIRS
The war with the Corsairs does not end, even when a potentially powerful ally appears in the human-colonised part of the universe – an alien race that has had its own harsh experiences with the mysterious aggressors.
The Blood Belt – an asteroid cluster with a rich supply of transolarite – is chosen as the site for the first diplomatic meeting between representatives of the two civilisations. It is home to a station with the most powerful protective shield humanity has ever created. In addition to the flagship of the South American fleet, the UTSS Salamis has also been tasked with defending the Cinturón de Sangre, its presence having been specifically requested by the aliens.
But can humans trust aliens when the first alien contact ended in an undeclared war? And how much trust are the potential allies willing to place in humanity when they have been attacked for years by Earth ships and implant-controlled human marines? And then, of course, there are the Corsairs, who are not in the least bit pleased with the prospect of such an alliance and have no intention of staying on the sidelines.
The future course of the war with the Corsairs will be decided in the Blood Belt.
