The continuation of a fantasy series soaked in blood and sarcasm
Nady, who was once the only rider in the Souzeni, became the chieftain of the Bastards, the half-orcs who swore allegiance to her after the fall of the Furnace. But trouble is plaguing her hoof - the fortress is decaying, a mysterious famine is plaguing the inhabitants and a terrifying pack of fiendish dogs is roaming the countryside, spreading death.
Meanwhile, in his stronghold, Captain Bermudo is plotting a plan by means of which the cavaliers are to seize control of the Souzeni for the sake of the Hispardic crown. When the sprawling Hisparta recruits the unknown Zahracen tribe into their service and the chiefs' negotiations for a joint hoof action fail, Nady and her city find themselves on the brink of destruction. Nady decides to go for help, and in the Pit she meets Kanyar again, but also the treacherous Orc Spot chief Boul, who tries to thwart her attempts to unite the hooves.
Against all odds, she and her hoof manage to reach the forbidden land of the Elves, where her people find temporary refuge. Nady has a difficult task ahead of her - but first she must overcome the age-old hatred the Elves feel for her.
