Prague unknown V
The fifth episode of Prague the Unknown takes us to the mysterious Haštalská quarter, connected with Foglar's Stínadla, where we will still discover many strange messages from the new Vontes. We will walk through the disappeared historical streets in the monastery gardens and visit the redevelopment of the Na Františku district. In Prague's largest residential area, Hanspaulka, we will see Lída Baar's villa or Vlasta Burian's house. We will also look into the village conservation area – old Stodůlky –, which hides a preserved rare set of folk architecture. In the fourth chapter we get to know the first republican settlement Zelená liška and in Lysolaje we can find country estates, the Miracle Spring or an open-air gallery.
„ There was a love alley, where little girls with make-up and posh grandmothers stood in the doorway, or looked out of the windows with orange and red curtains (which replaced the red lantern) at customers – regular clientele of the neighbouring pubs, men of all local swimming professions, but also firemen from the barracks opposite. The prettier and younger ones used to be one ‚ anointing‘ 1–2 crowns, the older ones were satisfied with a smaller amount. “
