Mark Twain' s short stories
World literature doesn' t have that many genuine humorists, but Mark Twain is among them as a great classic. His view of society, its clichés and stereotypes, underlined by American Protestant hypocrisy, however, ranks him among modern world authors. American literature was set on the East Coast until the mid-19th century. Only after the civil war did a new generation emerge, bringing a different language, new themes, and a picture of the conditions in the West at that time. Mark Twain (1835-1910) barely had a basic education, but he stood out as a journalist with his sharp intelligence, observation, and brevity. By his behavior, to which the legs on the table belonged, loudness and sarcastic vocabulary, became the prototype of the American, somewhat uncouth, but full of energy. Performers: Karel Höger, Bohumil Bezouška, Václav Voska, Ivan Rezac, Tomas Töpfer, Boris Rösner and others.
