Postcard from Paris

It's 1917, World War I is sweeping Europe, and young nurse Beatrice Crawford leaves the safety of her home in the UK to care for wounded soldiers on the French battlefields. Even decades later, when France succumbs to the Nazi occupation and a dark shadow covers Paris, Beatrice cannot sit idly by and wait to be rescued. But who can she trust in this new, dangerous world?

In 2019, Annie Lovell arrives in Paris, having jumped at the chance to visit the apartment her London neighbour inherited in the city without a second thought. In addition to a pleasant escape from everyday life, a surprise awaits her there that may change her whole life – she manages to discover Beatrice's hidden diaries.

Captivated by the haunting narrative and the splendour of the City of Lights, she pieces together the mosaic of ancient events that Beatrice set in motion… and which are still awaiting completion.
