Polish for beginners A1 - A2

Course designed for complete and false beginners

Thank you for your interest in the Polish for Beginners A1-A2 course. The course is designed for complete and false beginners, so if you've been learning Polish for a while and want a thorough refresher, this course is for you.
The course is based on contextual learning, which means that you will learn not only vocabulary words but also sentences in which you can use them. In this course you will find a total of 2,500 words and sentences to practice. The individual lessons are divided by topic and each contains a different number of words and sentences. Level A1, A2 is for beginners, so most of the space is devoted to topics, such as the basics, Travel, free time, family, whose vocabulary and well-established phrases will help you get along at a basic level when travelling and communicating with Polish speakers in general.
How best to work with the course? Choose the lesson you want to start with. Each lesson contains six tracks. First, for each lesson, familiarize yourself with the vocabulary itself (clues 1 and 2). This is followed by a verb and an example sentence, again in both translation options (tracks 3 and 4). Then move on to full sentences (track 5 and 6). If you can translate sentences from Slovak into Polish (Lesson 6) in the time gap before the Polish translation, you have won. The words themselves will help you understand the meaning, but using mastered complete sentences will help you communicate much better.
For each block: as soon as you have mastered the listening from Polish to Slovak lessons 1, 3, 5 - listen exercise) move on to the translation from Slovak to Polish (lessons 2, 4, 6 - translate exercise). You don't have to work with all the tracks in one lesson, you can focus more on the listening that suits you best. However, I recommend listening to all the tracks of a given lesson at least once
Scripts are available for this course to make your course activities much more effective. You will find a learning guide with useful tips on how to make learning more purposeful, a lesson plan to record progress, transcription of audio tracks (for example, that you don't understand something) and double-sided cards, so you can learn and repeat, even when you can't listen. For those who like to test themselves, there is a translation test in each lesson with a key to the correct answers.
