Physical education at the 2nd level of primary school

The monograph by the staff of the Department of Physical Education of the Charles University Faculty of Education in Prague is intended primarily for teachers (not only at the 2nd level of elementary school) and undergraduate students at pedagogical faculties, but with its broad theoretical and practical scope it can also provide necessary information to a wider range of workers in physical education and sports.

It is first oriented towards the theoretical foundations of the physical education process from the point of view of the relationship between theory and practice, History, didactics, anthropomotorics, musculoskeletal diagnostics, issues of supporting disadvantaged pupils, youth sports training and talent selection and further presents in detail didactic approaches to the actual implementation of school (and extracurricular) physical education in accordance with the objectives of the Framework Educational Program (FEP) - from health TV to athletics, gymnastics (sports, rhythmic and fitness), games (movement, sporty and unconventional), swimming to outdoor activities (hiking, rope activities, skiing, snowboarding and skating). It provides interested parties with detailed orientation on the issue and makes it easier for teachers to translate the requirements of the RVP into a specific school educational program.
