Philological Studies 2020

The monograph is devoted to the application of an interdisciplinary approach in school language teaching. It provides a theoretical definition of interdisciplinarity and interdisciplinary approaches in teaching, and deals with the central curricular and programme documents regulating teaching in the Czech Republic. It provides analyses of curriculum documents of selected countries of individual languages, analyses of school curricula of primary and/or secondary schools and analyses of selected textbooks from the perspective of interculturality. It also demonstrates the issue of interdisciplinarity on the cross-cutting topic of media education. The monograph presents a varied but coherent view of the mosaic of approaches to interdisciplinarity in the Czech language curriculum, including foreign inspirations.
