Pharmacotherapy Manual
This unique publication offers a comprehensive overview of all medicines and infusion solutions that paramedics commonly use in their practice when dealing with specific emergency conditions. It includes information on the legislation governing the competencies of paramedics in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, making the book a universal manual that can be used in both countries. The individual chapters contain important information on the application of various types of drugs, as well as a description of the correct technique for their administration and possible dilution.
All medicines with which ambulance crews must be equipped are described in detail. This description follows a uniform format, which consists of information on the name of the medicine, the active substance it contains, the amount of the medicine in one ampoule, the medicine's indication criteria, contraindications, dosage for adult and paediatric patients, and finally, any adverse effects that may occur after administration. Information on the inclusion of the medicine in the equipment of crews in both countries is also provided.
The book is intended for a large group of students in the field of emergency healthcare, professional paramedics, and doctors specialising in emergency medicine. It can also be used by healthcare professionals in emergency departments, who also come into contact with similar medical equipment.
