Petrified blood
The blood vein of Öland: The Easter that changed everything
A vein of blood runs through the limestone on the coast of Öland, a deep red layer that was once said to be petrified blood spilled in a battle between rock trolls and plains fairies. Per Mörner, who comes to Stenvik to celebrate Easter with his children, knows all these tales. Contrary to his original plans, he ends up bringing his troubled father Jerry, who is later murdered. Looks like someone he knew killed him. But who could hate him so terribly? This question does not leave Per Mörner in peace. And what he finds out is going to completely shake him up? The third, eagerly awaited novel from the island of Öland by the winner of prestigious literary awards, a more than worthy successor to Stieg Larsson!
Johan Theorin
Johan Theorin was born in Gothenburg. From childhood he spent every summer on the island of Öland, which had a fatal influence on his later literary work. His mother's family, made up mainly of sailors, fishermen and farmers, had lived here for centuries and cared for the island's heritage, mysterious stories and folklore. This almost mystical setting inspired him to write a series of stories in which he masterfully combines the genius loci of Öland with a detective plot. He currently lives in Gothenburg and works as a journalist. Among other reasons, he is often compared to Stieg Larsson. The author began his literary career writing short stories for various magazines and anthologies. His first novel Skumtimmen (Mlhy Ölandu, MOBA - November 2011) was published in the spring of 2007 and became an instant bestseller. So far it has been published in twenty countries, including Germany, USA, Brazil, Thailand or Slovakia, and in 2007 won the Swedish Academy of Detective Fiction's award for the best detective story of the year.
