Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief (Illustrated Edition)
Half boy... half god. Altogether Percy Jackson
My name is Percy Jackson.
Until now, I thought I was just an ordinary boy about to get kicked out of school. But then I found out that my father is a god from Olympus. My teacher turned into a bloodthirsty monster and my friend is a Satyr. Everyone's got it in for me, suspecting I've stolen the lightning bolt, the weapon of the mighty god Zeus. I must prove my innocence and find the stolen lightning bolt, and the thief along with it. Will you help me? But it's going to be dangerous, so don't say I didn't warn you!
Rick Riordan
Born in San Antonio, Texas, USA. For many years, he taught English and History at a secondary school in California. He would tell his son, Haley, stories from Greek mythology, who then asked him if he could come up with something new with the same characters – and thus the five-part series starring Percy Jackson was born, for which the author won numerous literary awards. His other series draw on Egyptian or Norse mythology, for example. Riordan's books have been translated into more than forty languages.
