Pavel Šporcl - My life (not only) with violin
Pavel Šporcl is an artist who has done more to popularize classical music than anyone else. When he first picked up a violin as a pre-schooler, he certainly did not think that his name would one day be admiringly recited by those who are otherwise not very fond of this art form. Diligence and determination, together with talent, family background and dedicated teachers, led him to become a violinist of world renown.
Compared to other masters, however, he has something extra: managed to perfectly combine classical music and quality entertainment for a wider audience. Pavel's concerts are attended by all age groups and his recordings have gained popularity across generations and social classes.
All of this is supported by the character and broad heart of this musician and promoter of classical music. In conversation, which was led by the well-known moderator Václav Žmolík, we watch his first musical steps, growing up at the conservatory, years spent in the US, a meteoric rise upon return, symbolized by the proverbial scarf and blue violin, recordings in prestigious world catalogues, pedagogical and charitable activities... We can admire the breadth and genre diversity of his repertoire, as well as an insider's view of the violin greats of the past, and we'll see Paul as a son, too, husband and father. There is also a story about how he spends his free time, how he lives, how he lived his coronavirus time to the fullest and what he would like to achieve in the future. We are faced with a man who is no stranger to anything human, but who at the same time managed to go his own way and sacrifice everything he could for his goal.
Pavel's personal and open testimony is enriched by the views of personalities who have influenced his private and professional life, as well as a photographic supplement.
