Pavel Šoltéz: Kelley or the First Pigeon Census in Bohemia

The famous alchemist's claim of the impossibility of artificially producing gold caused a stir in certain circles in the 16th century. His first official attempt to produce gold turned out well. And so spies are put on Kelley. Everything in the game is done with humorous exaggeration. But it is also an allusion to the not-so-cheerful practices of totalitarian regimes. Everybody spies on everybody and the only thing they don't believe is the truth. Persons and cast: Jiří Lábus (Edward Kelley), Jiří Zahajský (Beppo) Jaroslav Kepka (Markvart), Vlastimil Brodský (parish priest), Hana Maciuchová (Anna), Iveta Dušková (Clara), Soběslav Sejk (messenger), Otakar Brousek Jr. And others. Directed by: Josef Henke.
