Pavel Kosatík: Eight Women from the Castle

Pavel Kosatík and a dramatised reading from his book in which he describes the fate of the wives of Czechoslovak presidents. Based on available materials (literary and archival sources, memories of still living family members and other witnesses), tried to reconstruct the image of their personalities, the vicissitudes of their fates and the fact how the couple's political activities and public functions affected their personal lives, just as they themselves have affected the lives and careers of their partners. The ten-part cycle of readings has been prepared for radio by Pavel Kosatík in collaboration with Milena Lukavská. In the individual chapters we will hear Vera Galatíková and Jiří Plachý. In 1996, director Vladimir Gromov made the film.
