In the book you will find the life of Alexey Navalny described in his own words. You will read about his childhood in the Soviet Union, his political epiphany, his beloved family, his sincere and passionate resistance against the corrupt regime, and above all his love for Russia and its people. The travesty of an attack by Russian intelligence has become a global event in 2020. In 2024, Navalny died under brutal conditions in a Siberian prison. He began writing Patriot while recovering from an attempted murder. The text ends with notes from prison, which are published here for the first time. We are witnessing a surge in Navalny's international support. We follow the author's repeated arrests, personal persecution and, in horrifying detail, direct attempts at his physical liquidation. Only now do we understand why something compelled him to return to Russia. Even in prison, however, he showed mental resilience and an unbreakable sense of humour. We also recognize in him an optimist and a born leader who gave the Russians what no one else could offer: hope.
