Patient and healthcare worker
The book deals with the issue of the behavior of healthcare professionals towards patients and their family members. Using examples, the author tries to illustrate situations that commonly occur in healthcare and complicate patients' lives or can even harm the patient. The conclusion of each case is a lesson for readers on how they should ideally act in similar situations.
The author draws on her experience as a long-time healthcare worker and the experiences she has gained in her life as a patient or family member of a patient. At the same time, it introduces readers to some topics related to the activities of healthcare facilities, which are generally not discussed publicly. Although most of the chapters are a sad picture of the Czech healthcare system, the book aims to encourage readers to take an active stance and better face everything that may arise in their lives when communicating with healthcare professionals.
