Pathological gambling

The theoretical and methodological context is combined into categories in which the author describes pathological gambling as a disorder of impulse control; pathological gambling as a non-substance, behavioral addiction; pathological gambling in the context of social pathology in the family; Pathological gambling in the context of obsessive-compulsive disorder and pathological gambling in the context of substance dependence.

The individual influences of the family system in the context of gambling pathology, namely the functionality of the family, relational bonds in childhood and adulthood, and parental behaviour and parenting styles, are also presented.
