Party with Kassuárem

At the beginning of the summer, twenty-year-old student Isa throws a party at her family's villa in Turin. Everyone is enjoying the generous supply of food, alcohol, and music when an unexpected gift arrives with a threatening message: if one of the guests doesn't dare to touch the cassowary (a large, dangerous bird similar to an ostrich) from the neighbouring garden by one o'clock in the morning, their friend Ezio will die. The group of friends tries to figure out if it's just a cruel joke or a real threat as they face a challenge that tests their courage and relationships with each other. The Cassowary Party is an extraordinary debut novel that stands out for its high literary quality and original plot. The almost surreal scenes with the cassowary reveal the inner insecurities, fears, and desires of a generation of young people, not just in Italy. At this party, there's more at stake than just fun—it's a game of life and death.
