Our Father
In prayer, we constantly repeat the plea of Jesus’ disciples: “Lord, teach us to pray.” Just as he taught the apostles, Jesus gives the entire church the Lord’s Prayer. It is not an abundance of knowledge that nourishes the soul, but the inner feeling and experience of truth. In the Lord’s Prayer, we find inspirations that help us to sincerely and deeply experience what is most important in the life of a Christian. It contains the tradition of the well-known brief summary of all perfection. Pope Francis says: “This Christian prayer is born from the courage to address God by the name of Father. This is the root of Christian prayer, namely, to call God Father.”
