Otakar Motejl

Otakar Motejl was at the birth of modern Czech advocacy and participated in the protection of human rights. He was the Minister of Justice, the first President of the post-revolutionary Supreme Court of the Czech Republic and the first ever Human Rights Defender. Before 1989, however, he worked as an advocate for dissidents, including the famous trial of the Plastic People of the Universe.
