On the waves of courage and adventure

Fantastic stories of a legendary adventurer and traveller On the March anniversary of the birth of the famous and revered author Otakar Batlicka (12. 3. 1895 - 13. 2. 1942), we used the recordings of his adventure stories from the magazine Mladý hlasatel, published in 2016 under the title Příběhy davahy a dobrodružství (Stories of Courage and Adventure), and followed them up with a new collection of stories from the author's manuscript. In them, Batlička draws not only from his experiences as a globetrotter and from the stories of people he has met on his travels around the world, but also from his own imagination and dreams. The heroes are, for example, a young girl who helps to solve a crime with her photo, or a boy who plays brilliantly on the violin for the passengers on the train. This includes young adventurers having unexpected and extraordinary experiences, or polar travellers stranded on an ice floe. Batlička has dazzled generations of enthusiastic admirers with his adventurous lyrics. For the most part, the performers of these stories are among them.
