On the Theory of Russian Literature and its Context
From a theoretical perspective, Russian literature is exceptionally inspiring due to its specific development from the Middle Ages to the present day. Based on research into literary theory and history within the broader Slavic context, the author presents, in several related studies, an implicit outline of a concept for the theory and history of Russian literature, viewed from the position of comparative and genre studies against the backdrop of several other Slavic and European literatures. As a natural part of Slavic studies, the work stems from contemporary attempts to reconceptualise the theory and history of Slavic literatures.
