On the side of the Czech king

Jakub Protiva, now a former town clerk of the New Town of Prague, returned to his native stronghold of Protivec near Prachatice to farm in his deceased brother's place. The peaceful country life is disrupted by the arrival of the royal sub-commander Zikmund Huler, who asks Jakub to rescue the Czech king Wenceslas IV, who has been captured and kidnapped by his younger brother, King Sigismund of Luxembourg.
