On a paddleboard for a dream

Paddleboarding from Stockholm to Helsinki or to the Yukon? Does this seem crazy? Crazy? Naive? Dangerously? And after fifty? Former Liberec city hall official Monika Klemšová proved it all. In just a few years, she has covered thousands of kilometers on her modest vessel through Czech dams, rivers and lakes, has completed three major trips through Scandinavia, and her most recent expedition to Canada on the Yukon and Big Salmon Rivers. Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of rivers, lakes and seas from the perspective of a happy " naive" amateurs.

I love water, I often just sit by it and quietly observe everything around me. I feel comfortable with it, perhaps because I grew up near a beautiful dam in the Jizera Mountains. Wherever I find lakes, forests and rocks, I feel a bit at home.
I' m always amazed at how much power and energy is in that water. How she can caress the body and soul, but also destroy and take whatever she pleases. For some it is a drug, for others a nightmare, it can be everything a person can imagine.
I also like watching paddlers dancing on their boats in the swirling currents and foamy waves. Here they are up, here they are down, it is strikingly reminiscent of a play about life. I think water resembles both women and men. I know that calm lake water is more suitable for me. Maybe even the sea or wide rivers. Sometimes it bothers me, but in the end, the magical reflection of the setting sun on the surface always comes. I am extremely grateful for these moments.
