Nemesis

Episode 4 of the Harry Hole crime series. Autumn has begun. In one bank branch in the centre of Oslo, the manager is given twenty-five seconds to open the ATM, withdraw money and put it into a prepared cable. He will exceed the limit by six seconds. The bank robber points six fingers at the security camera, shoots one of the female employees and disappears without a trace. The case is assigned to Harry Hole, one of the best criminologists of the Oslo police, but also a very peculiar guy, a lone wolf with a disordered personal life and an alcoholic who has trouble submitting to any authority. He is assisted in the investigation by a very skilled police reinforcement, Beata Lonnova, the daughter of a well-known shot criminal who took the place of Harry's murdered colleague Ellen Gjelten. Shortly after the investigation begins, Harry's old flame Anna Bethsen is found in her flat. All indications are that she committed suicide the night Harry dined with her. Almost everything. But Harry has a complete "window" and remembers nothing of the visit. What actually happened in Anna's apartment? When the investigation reaches a dead end, Harry decides to enlist the help of Raskol, a Romanian Roma, a relative of Anna's and a legendary bank robber who turned himself in to the police and got himself arrested. Even from prison, however, he can pull the necessary strings. Harry makes a deal with Raskol: Raskol helps him find the bank robber, and in return Harry uncovers Anna's killer. The merry-go-round of events is getting underway. And autumn has only just begun.
