Nature in the Bohemian Central Highlands and beyond
This book offers a selection of richly illustrated popular science texts, created over more than eleven years of systematic nature observation in the vicinity of Libochovice – a town also known as the birthplace of the renowned Jan Evangelista Purkyně – and the wider landscape of the Bohemian Central Highlands. The author guides readers through diverse biotopes, from steppe slopes to wetlands and rocky sites, sensitively capturing the transformations of the landscape and encounters with rare and endangered species.
The publication links botany with other natural science disciplines, is based on repeated field surveys, and is complemented by authentic photographs. It is a celebration of the uniqueness of the Czech landscape and is intended for students, nature lovers, and all inquisitive readers interested in its hidden treasures.
