A tale of the Běstvin, filled with mysticism and darkness
In the story of little Vítek Kříž and his brother Jáchym, we find ourselves in Běstviny, a place made for an ancient legend in which a huge compost heap sits at the end of the castle garden. Deep underground lives a worm that needs to be fed - with joy, fear, remorse and once in a while something alive. When the grandfather passes away, one of the grandchildren will have to take his place and take care of the Běstviny. To keep the legend from breaking, he'll have to kill.
But what if the characters rebel against their own narrator and refuse to be part of his play? And how to even challenge its omniscience, which is sweeping through the trees in the form of wind and wagging its tail? The children of the story of Běstvin are now adults and return to the gardens to retell the last chapters in their own way.
