Naked
Two small children are running around the kitchen and every now and then a neighbour will appear at the door complaining about the noise. And you think of nothing but sleep. After the much-discussed novel The Last Summer, the writer Dorota Ambrožová comes up with a disturbing account of a period when she suffered from insomnia. In a text called Naked, which teeters between uncompromising autofiction and tender essay, she describes the maternal experience, family traditions and expectations rooted in faith and the position of a woman who became a mother right after school. The text was originally written for the Radio Wave podcast, but was later developed into a book. It was graphically edited by Nikola Janíčková and illustrated by Jindřich Janíček.
