The enemy of my enemy deserves a bullet just the same…

The Ruhar – a furry race of alien colonisers – attacked unexpectedly and with a technological superiority that even the United States Army couldn't match. But in one place, they hit a wall. The small town of Thompson Corners seems, at first glance, like just another backwater in the state of Maine. Except for one thing: Army Specialist Joe Bishop happens to be on holiday there. And he has absolutely no intention of kissing any occupier's hairy feet. On the contrary, with a hastily assembled resistance cell, he plans to give them a real run for their money. To make matters worse, ships belonging to the Ruhar's enemies, the lizard-like Kristang, appear in orbit, wanting to get in on the action.
The UN reacts by immediately establishing expeditionary forces, which will set out with their new allies to kick the Ruhar out of the galaxy – and Bishop can't miss out on that. However, it soon becomes clear that the Kristang aren't playing with a full deck. And that the whole business with the Ruhar and the conquest of Earth may not be as straightforward as it first seemed…
