My man, my wife

After years of marriage, the driving force is no longer mutual captivation, but mainly habit. The couple in Erml's novel know each other perfectly. Every action and every thought of their partner is predictable. It's a tired, sad dance of understanding, but its persistence also offers support. This becomes apparent when they set out together for Ladakh, retracing a journey they took in their youth when they were in love. Their goal seems to be to meet again with a wise teacher who might be able to shed light on what they are currently experiencing... This prosaic ode to a faded love, however, may paradoxically speak to its greatness.
