My friend Edison

Thomas Edison's inventions and Henry Ford's cars changed the face of modern civilisation, but few people know that these two exceptional personalities were united by a long-standing friendship full of admiration, collaboration, and shared adventures, which in itself has gone down in history.

The book "My Friend Edison" presents Henry Ford's personal recollections of the man he admired his entire life. Here, Ford portrays Edison not only as a brilliant inventor but also as a man with an unbreakable will, an extraordinary work ethic, and sound common sense. With perspective and respect, he describes their first meeting, Edison's work habits, and his views on education, science, and life.

An extensive foreword and afterword by Petr Mečíř place the original text in a broader historical context, offer many related interesting facts, and also set the record straight on many myths and controversies.

Among other things, you will learn:

how Ford and Edison promoted motoring with their trips into the wilderness; how Edison's stubbornness and renowned perseverance led to many dead ends and lost millions; how Ford tried to do good deeds while remaining anonymous; what really happened between Edison and Tesla; or how misinformation in the internet age has distorted Edison's public image today.
