Mr Livingstone's Bookshop

Agnes Martí, a young archaeologist, moved from her native Barcelona to London in the hope of finding a job in one of Britain's archaeological museums. But when she is about to return home after months of unsuccessful searching, she wanders into a cozy bookstore called Moonlight Books during a melancholy stroll through the Temple District.

The grumpy owner Edward Livingstone takes an immediate liking to the bright girl and employs her as his assistant. Although Agnes is not giving up her archaeological dream, soon falls under the spell of the shop and its regulars, like the wise little boy Oliver Twist, an avid reader, Mrs. Dresden, a silent writer writing by the light of a blue lamp or Edward's sympathetic girlfriend, Sioban publisher, and finds out Edward's not such a misanthrope, he's pretending to be.

However, the peaceful everyday life of the bookstore is disrupted by a theft – Edward's ancestor's precious diary suddenly disappears and Agnes fears that suspicion will fall on her. And when the handsome Inspector John Lockwood takes over the investigation, the archaeologist loses her last vestiges of peace.
