The suspense thriller Master of Escapes has become the #1 New York Times bestseller
A thrilling thriller about a deceptive game at the highest levels of power, where lives are at stake. Meet Nola, one of the most remarkable literary characters of the last decade. Immerse yourself in a fast-paced, action-packed ride that takes you behind the scenes of high politics in the United States where you don't normally go.
Who's Nola Brown? Nola is a mystery. Nola is trouble. Nola should rightly be dead.
Her body was found in a plane that crashed under mysterious circumstances after leaving a secret military base in the Alaskan wilderness. Her commanding officer confirms she's dead. This is also confirmed by US government authorities. But Jim "Zig" Zigarowski is staring the truth in the face right now: Nola is still alive.
Zig works as a mortician at Dover Air Force Base, where he prepares the bodies of agents who have died during top-secret missions. He has a cardinal rule: never take cases personally. But when the body of young Sergeant Nola Brown is brought in, she can't help herself. Nola was friends with his daughter as a child and even saved her life once. On closer inspection, however, Zig knows immediately that this is not Nola. That means she's alive and he has to try to find her.
Nola is a visual artist working for the United States Army, a trained soldier who has to bring back an artistic record of each battle, giving testimony to details that would otherwise go unnoticed. During the last event, she saw someone no one was supposed to see and made an enemy for life and death. Someone who will do anything to shut her up forever.
Together with Zig, she either manages to get to the bottom of a con game at the highest levels of power, or they both die trying to unravel a mysterious and long-running conspiracy inspired by the greatest master leaker of all time: Harry Houdini.
