Miss Peregrine's Orphanage for Strange Children

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A peculiar collection of very strange photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that blends fiction and eerie photography for a unique reading experience. Our story begins with a horrific family tragedy that sends sixteen-year-old Jacob on a journey to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob wanders through its abandoned bedrooms and corridors, it gradually becomes clear that Miss Peregrine's children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for very good reasons. And somehow – though it seems impossible – they may still be alive.

A spine-chilling fantasy accompanied by spooky old period photographs. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children will appeal to adults, teenagers, and anyone who enjoys a dark adventure. The book caused a huge stir even before its release. In a fiery auction for the film rights, 20th Century Fox emerged victorious. And now the excellent Tim Burton is circling, who should be taking on the directing role.
