After the devastating meteorite impact on Italy in 2077, humanity's top leaders decided to create a system of radars and telescopes to monitor all objects passing through the Solar System. In 2130, the system captured an object of extraordinary size. It moved in a straight line, not an ellipse like the other asteroids. He was named Rama and was forgotten for a time. It was only when it approached Mars that a lander was sent to it and its camera images took humanity's breath away. The frame is a cylinder fifty kilometres long and twenty kilometres in diameter. Its surface is completely smooth and, judging by the weak gravitational field, it can be assumed to be hollow.
